I was knitting and crocheting like crazy before Christmas.  I crocheted a scarf for my sister's boyfriend in one day.  The strategy???  A big crochet needle and thick yarn.  We were supposed to see them on Christmas night, but they were sleepy.  Not for naught, I will unwrap it and add fringe to each ends.

It will look much better with some fringe, won't it??

Then there is this experimental infinity scarf.
It is being done with two different yarn weights.  The darker pink is from a monthly yarn box.  It's silk and lovely, but not really enough yarn to make something.  So I added the light pink, or I'm in the process, and plan to make it an infinity scarf.  Well, after blocking, I'll have to see how it drapes.

I haven't touched the warm mittens that I showed previously, but I need to!  It's only 10 degrees this morning!!!

Christmas was fun and the teens are off until the 7th.  Lots of down time to knit and paint.  I gave this to my mom for Christmas.  Well, it's not sent yet.  I needed to frame it and then find a box, etc.  UPS wanted $35 to send it to the northeast.  Oh my.  I'll take it to the post office today.
Love, Heather

Running out of Time!!!

After many attempts at mittens and after having difficulty with understanding patterns, this one is my favorite.  The pattern is Lion Brand Frosty Mittens, pattern number L20305.  It calls for Homespun yarn, which can taking some getting used to, but once I did, it went pretty smoothly.

This is just one of many projects I am trying to finish for Christmas gifts that need to be sent to the east coast.  Yikes,  I'm madly trying to make time to get these projects done, but it's been a challenge.

This is lovely silk yarn that came in a Darn Good Yarn monthly box.  It's so lovely.  I don't think I'm going to get the length I need though.  I thought of joining a nice light pink and making it a long cowl that could be wrapped once around.  I haven't found anything in my stash yet.  I'm also considering a soft white.

Off to finish!!!

Ahhh Mondays.......

Well, Mr. L. loved this Christmas tree that he got at Walmart.  Ms. M and I put it up a few days ago.  Out of the box, the "frosty" fake snow was everywhere and made both of us wheeze.  It also smelled awful.  It's a pre-lit tree with white lights and then I added colored lights.  We still need to decorate.  I'm liking it a little bit more.

Ms. M. played in the Christmas parade.  I didn't get a picture of her because my fingers were so cold that I couldn't get the button on the iPhone to work.  But here are a few pictures that I did manage to take.  The Clydesdale horse was enormous!!  Love them.  The pictures are a little blurry.

I am furiously working on this scarf for my sister for Christmas.  It's done in the round and then sewn at each end.  Double warmness!!!  I've been working on it since last year!!  The rest of the scarf will be purple.  Fun!!
